After reading these two articles in the Washington Post, I have to say I’m totally confused by McCain picking Palin as his running mate.
This article states that Palin is suing the Bush administration because her Alaskan administration doesn’t think the polar bear should be listed an endangered species due to global warming. “The suit says polar bears have survived warming periods in the past.” Wait. Global warming is a period? That is, it will have an end? And the end will be soon, before all the bears die? Without anyone doing anything about it? Rilly?
This article, on the other hand, quotes McCain amplifying his platform that “the environment has to be a bigger issue…The overwhelming evidence that climate change is taking place argues that we address the issue.”

Candyhog blogged a link to a pretty interesting New Yorker article about how we don’t have to hate lobbyists anymore, how there’s no such thing as the public good, and there’s nothing wrong with politicians flip-flopping or realigning themselves. What a relief. Now all we have to do is pay attention to which groups are the groups du jour, and determine their agendas, and apply pressure to the groups for whom we as citizens wish to give support. Right?
